Applies to the Chrome extensions Case Changer, Character Counter for X, Bluesky & Threads, Unit Price Calculator, Plain Text, Tab Limiter, Hex Color Picker, Recipe Scaler, and Date Calculator.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

The short version. These extensions do not collect, transmit, sell or share your personal data. Everything they do happens on your own computer and never leaves it. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

What each extension does, and where

All processing happens locally, inside your browser. Results are never transmitted anywhere.

Tab Limiter, specifically

Tab Limiter is the only one of these extensions that can see anything about your browsing, so it is worth being precise about it:

What is stored on your device

Each extension uses your browser's local storage to remember some of the following, depending on what that extension does:

This data stays on your device and is not readable by us. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

The one network request

When you open an extension's popup, it asks ExtensionPay whether your licence is paid. That request contains an anonymous installation identifier and nothing else. No text you have typed, copied or highlighted, and no address you have visited, is ever included.

If the request fails — because you are offline, for example — the extension carries on working using the last known answer.

Payments

Premium upgrades are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. If you choose to buy one:

See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle that data.

Permissions, and why each one exists

PermissionWhy it is needed
storage
all
Saves your settings, draft and licence status locally on your device.
activeTab
Case Changer
Reads the text you have highlighted and writes the converted text back — only on the tab where you opened the extension, and only when you click.
scripting
Case Changer
Runs the small function that reads and replaces that selection. Only in response to your click.
clipboardRead
Plain Text
Reads the copied text so its formatting can be stripped. Only when you click the clean button.
clipboardWrite
Plain Text
Writes the cleaned plain text back to your clipboard.
tabs
Tab Limiter
Counts how many tabs are open, and closes a new one that would take you past your limit.
notifications
Tab Limiter
Tells you that a tab was blocked, and why.
Access to extensionpay.com
all
Required by the payment library to confirm a completed purchase. Applies to that one site and to no other.

Apart from the cases described above, these extensions cannot read the pages you browse. Case Changer only ever sees text you have deliberately highlighted, on the tab where you opened it.

Hex Color Picker, Recipe Scaler and Date Calculator request no permissions at all beyond storage. The colour picker uses Chrome's own EyeDropper, which the browser runs on your behalf and which needs no access to any page.

Children

These are general-purpose tools and are not directed at children under 13. No personal data is collected from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated, and any material change will be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
